The Fall Student / Alumni Conference is a high-powered 1-day session custom built for current WJPZ and Syracuse students to address issues pertaining to WJPZ, the radio business, and finding a job in today’s business climate. Students and alumni alike are encouraged to meet and network, and because an alumni reference is now a condition for the 'Lock' scholarship, it is an invaluable experience for students.
Agendas for the Fall Conference vary from year to year, but typically include:
a) Review and analysis of the station’s overall marketing position
b) Identifying the Z89 listener
c) Airchecks – DJ, news, sports
d) Sales & promotional brainstorming
e) Programming
f) Management & communication
g) Networking, career building and resume preparation
h) Integrating PR into the mix
